by Stacy Puckett

  • Streaming + Download

Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

This CD was originally released at the 2nd annual Chicago Cigar Box Guitar festival on November 7, 2013.

I have no plans on re-releasing it in any format other than digitally, as I am working on a few other projects to release on iTunes/Spotify/Amazon, etc.

It features a lot of the newer music and rough(er) drafts of songsI have been working on for the last several months. Some of these songs will likely end up on future releases in slightly different formats or in a different collection.
This is the ONLY way this particular collectible CD created for this event will be available.

I do believe It's a collection of good songs, with varying production values (All recorded and produced on an iPad) and a good representation of the music of Stacy Puckett circa 2013. I hope you enjoy it and i GREATLY appreciate all the support I've received internationally from so many wonderful people.

I missed the Last Train from Chicago to Milwaukee I won't be coming home to you dear I missed the Last Train from Chicago to Milwaukee but I'm safe and sound darlin, here in this uptown bar The cities people seem so friendly as long as booze are on the bar so i spent my ticket money buying shots and rounds all over town Well my new found friends won't let me down (Chorus) Tomorrow morning will be ugly I'll have to find a way back home Or you can find me under, the Wilson street bridge by the lake With a bunch of other peeps that made mistakes (Chorus)

Grandpa was a banjo picker, 60 years ago Raised in the hills where the moonshine stills and the crooked rivers flow He'd push all night by the pale moon light, and turn them coal cars round Load them up with mountain gold and send them out of town and They Would Roll Winding by the rivers they would roll into places so mysterious and mean They would roll Grandpa lived for song and liquor, no matter what the toll Had his fill of old Nashville, made a record, never sold he hopped the trains from Big Lick City, to anywhere they'd roll Riding trains is easy Lord when the tracks roll by your home and They Would Roll Screaming through the dead of night they'd roll into spaces to luxuious and green They Would Roll What grandpa don't know is that he'll never fade away I was 12 years old I watched them lay him in his grave Became a full grown man and I myself do tend to stray Late at night I find my guitar, get it out and play Grandpa was a banjo picker, 60 years ago raised in the hills where the moonshine stills and the crooked rivers flow (chorus)

Just want to See You Smile Just want to make things better Just want to count the miles and cruise into forever I look into your eyes I know you don't believe me This world is full of lies but it's not one of them I don't know how we get to where we wanna be I don't know where we turn from here All I know is I want you here, next to me and we'll get by if we face the journey without fear (chorus) I don't care where we're going now truthfully 'cause love is all about the company you keep and we'll survive if you let me be here next to you 'cause when you smile it light up the world like I've never seen (chorus)

Blue railroad train, goin' down the railroad track It makes me feel so doggone blue to listen to that old smokestack Traverse a-rollin' on, leavin' me here behind Give me back them good old days and let me ramble down the line Blue railroad train, leavin' me here alone You treatn' me good, you treat'n me bad, you're makin' me think of home I hear that lonesome train and love to hear the whistle blow She's takin' the sun and leavin' the rain and makin' me wanna go I've got the blues, longin' for some company It's many miles from where I am to the only one for me It's so lonesome here, waitin' for the manifest I hope that engineer is kind, enough to let me be his guest Blue railroad train, a good old pal to me Takes me everywhere I wanna go, get my transportation free

Carry On 03:32
I wake up mid aftenoon TV's blaring static and I'm stumblin through the ruins In a little while I'll be gone Up across the mountain and I won't be home til dawn You do what you can to stay yourself to get through each day and you try not to ride your melt cause in a little while we'll be gone up across the mountain and we wont be comin home Carry On, with a Bible in your hands Carry On, cause this is the promised land and everyone has got to stand outside in the rain to feel the sun Got a little house out in the woods Got me two young children and I think that they're damn good in a little while theyll be grown up across the mountain and they wont be comin home sometimes at night I watch them sleep I watch them toss and turnin underneath their sheets in a little while they'll be gone up across the mountain and they won't be comin home Carry On, with a bottle in your hands Carry On, cause this is the promised land and everyone has got to stand outside in the rain to feel the sun

Overtime 05:03
I never thought you'd be leaving me here I never dreamed this in a thousand years All along it came so easy The selfish things I did to please me Now it's Overtime Time to figure this shit out What is yours is mine You won't let me sleep under a bridge now will ya I can't go back, I can't go forward Trains off the tracks, it's run away I'll go and find my friends, the ones that I've ignored The ones that still answer when I knock on their door I'll offer my charming wit my smile and a guitar if they will let me babysit their car and DVR (chorus)

Understated in significance a wire and cedar fence The kudzu creeping behing the late day shade The doggies that have gone away each one has had their day and gone on up to the kennel in the sky They won't be gone forever They won't be comin home We'll think of you whenever We throw away our bones Suspended in their innocense always a bit intense a fiery racer whenever the truck rolls too many nights in the trashcan and in my bowl Always at my right hand side to be my tour guide a tousand creatures, I never would have seen your head in my lap and runnin' in your dreams

I have heard that it's good to be fruitful all I know is it's not too late for me to try All alone and I'm searching for answers I have found that I can't find them on my own Now that I'm older, I'm so much wiser that's what they tell me I do my best to play my part but the warm days are colder and I'm just Killing time

When I was young and in my prime I left my home in Caroline Now all I do is sit and pine For all them folks I left behind I've got them Blue Ridge Mountain blues and I'll Stand right here and say My grip is packed to travel and I'm stealing gravel for the blue ridge far away I'm gonna stay home with my ma I'm gonna stay home with my pa Gonna hang around that cabin door With no work or Worries anymore

I never thought about the games all Facebook's apps, seem kinda lame But now it's all coming together selling CD's on the internet and my iPad keeps getting better I'm going riding on the Audiobus I've got a drum machine, and it's cool I've got some photo processing, it's like school Yeah I got stuff to make me look good Except I'm old tired and overweight But I've got an app for that too It tells me it can make me skinny again You Should Be Afraid of this You should run like hell You should tell your neighbor about it but you won't because you don't like what they like You should tell me how wrong this is Rate me a 1-5 cause if we don't have e-pinions to post well we, might as well not be alive The zombie's are here to stay they stay up all night and don't pray Touch me gently as a glass screen click me as softly what search terms will you use to find me what variables make a really good spouse (Chorus) I want to tell you What you're supposed to feel now oh won't you listen to me I want to tell you What you're supposed to think now Oh won't you listen, why don't you listen The zombies are here to stay They stay up all night and don't pray But now it's all coming together, selling Cd's on the internet My ipad keeps getting better, I'm going riding on the Audiobus (Chorus)
